I like the place and I like the idea of popping up to Duluth...but I think maybe breaking up the stay makes more sense and I would like to get over to that original area by Copper Harbor. I know 155 miles doesn't seem far, and it isn't, but google is stating that will take over 3hrs one-way, that makes for a little more tight day trip?!
Also, I have always wanted to go to Mackinac Island! I just wonder if that is getting a little too far for what we had originally discussed about keeping it short and utilizing less fuel, etc., as well as staying in one place for the duration. It would be 716 miles for me one-way to St. Ignace, MI. I am game if others are! It could be cool to hydro-jet ferry out to the island one day and stay overnight on the island for one night and ferry back the next day.
I am torn here, because on one hand I really want to go to Mackinac Island but I really was looking forward to staying in one place for the length of the trip.
Thoughts?!
Russ, can you work your magic and see how this could lay out stay/locations wise for these options?
