Russ,

I thought you told us to not plan on Shawn...should we now, at least for the Black Hills?

Please let me know how to proceed.

Thanks,

I got nothin on that Dogg.  I was just saying if by chance he decided to go before we need to book that we could go with something more expensive.  Probably shouldn't have thrown that in there because we are at that point now, sorry for the confusion.  If no firm answer, then we probably have to plan for splitting 3 ways to be safe.  Moneybags Nick can help pitch in.  He is thrifty all year long so he can splurge on the trip!  $$$ ;D

Hey thanks Nathan for all the options!  I like the $625 with the garage!  I will bring a sleeping bag and hit the couch if I have to!!??.  Not trying to be a cheap ass, just thrifty!!

Wow, you have been busy Dogg!  That's a lot of options!  The $625 one is actually a pretty good deal for what it is.  No reviews though, maybe its new?  3 bedrooms and a garage.  But, there are some others that are pretty darn nice too.  Are there any that are favorites of yours Dogg?

Nick,

The one thing I forgot to mention is the one for $625 w/garage...it does not have air conditioning!  So, I think I may want to choose something else...sorry Nick!

I will review the ones under $1000, and specifically the ones under $871 to determine my preference.

I would like to mention that you should also take a look at the locations...just so you are aware of where they are at.  Most of the cabin types are by Lead, Deadwood, etc.  Most of the cabins will have a little bit of gravel to get to them.

Location maybe not so relevant when the black hills isn't that huge to drive out and around to see things.  Maybe the cabin isn't air conditioned because of the cool mountain fresh air?!   Are there screens on the windows?  Can they be opened?  Just sayin...

I'm still sticking with my original choices:
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/32693335?s=51 = $1386 (Friday night thru Monday - 3 nights) *This one has a garage, I think we can sweet talk them into letting us utilize it.
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19178318?s=51 = $1369 (Friday night thru Monday - 3 nights) *This one has a garage, I think we can sweet talk them into letting us utilize it.

I inquired to see if they would make an exception on letting us use the garage outside of the Sturgis rally.  I'll wait to hear back.

If no on the garage, then:
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21996727?s=51 = $1453 (Friday night thru Monday - 3 nights) *Clubhouse with heated pool & more...
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/33492577?s=51 = $1505 (Friday night thru Monday - 3 nights) *Clubhouse with heated pool, 3 stall garage, & more...

These houses have full bar and hooker service also?  If the Garage is not included with the original price to start with, so you have ask to use it. This seems kinda high priced for just the house?

I didnt see anything about the hooker or full bar.  Before the guy checks on the garage he wanted to let me know there is about 1 mile of gravel to travel on.  How do you guys feel about that.  It may not be the absolute cheapest, but at Shawns calculation of $125 per person per night, I would think it would be hard to find a hotel for less than that and you get a whole house instead of a small hotel room.  Possibly even a garage.

Ok, wait a second, I had my calculations wrong.  If it is $125 per person and we typically stay 2 people per hotel room, that would mean the hotel would have to be $250 to equate dollar wise to the house.  That is a bit high I guess.

I will have to to through the lower dollar ones and get back with suggestions.

Given the cost and the mile of gravel, I told the guy we would pass and that he didn't have to inquire with the owner about the garage.

Lets get thrift shopping!

That one is now gone for our dates.  And the rest of the cheapest have less than 4 beds.

These are the cheapest with 4 beds.  None have 4 bedrooms, but at least 4 beds.
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/20587939?s=51&guests=4&adults=4&check_in=2019-06-07&check_out=2019-06-10  *$105 per person (country setting no garage)
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/33340361?s=51&guests=4&adults=4&check_in=2019-06-07&check_out=2019-06-10  $79 per person (in town with garage)

Anybody got anything better?
