Sounds good, man!

Did you find a air-bnb that you liked for the Rapid City area?  If so, lets see it.  If not, what are you waiting for?!

I will help you look further, if we can come to a consensus about how much to spend?  Obviously, I am going to look for the cheapest but when you are looking for air-bnb...I feel you are also looking for something different/unique and sometimes that isn't as cheap as you would think or like.

No, I haven't researched any places to stay yet at this point.  I was hoping that we could get our locations down first, then research places to stay.  I didn't want to get all the places lined up only to find we have 1000 miles on the last day and need to restructure all of the stops.  I am suspecting with the amount of miles we need to make, there will be no 2 night stay at any of our stops.  So yea, if any of you would like to help plan the stops, based on highway versus freeway, terrain, mileage per day, etc... that would be great.

I think any ABnB would be different in comparison to a hotel.  Something more unique than a ordinary house would be an added bonus.  It would be really nice to find a place with enough beds for everyone so we don't have to make Nick sleep on the floor  ;).  Shawn told me he has a big budget for this year, so I don't think money was a huge concern for him (or did I dream that!?  ;D).

So does Rapid City look do-able for our first day?  Where to next?

Looking good!  Some of the days getting a little long?  Maybe we can shorten things up along the coast?  Lets keep going!

Gentlemen,

Keep in mind all of these locations need to be booked really soon!!  Whether it is the airbnb or hotels because they are booking up.  Plus notice and keep in mind the airbnb locations typically require a security deposit...which could add up!  :o

Ahh yes, lets keep figuring out the stops so we can see if we can make it back home in the 11 days.  If all looks good I would think we could start booking.  Its all in at that point!  ;D  You guys are a heck of a team.  Nick the mapper and Nate the accommodation hunter  ;).

Oh yea, convert the routes to GPS files... I forgot about that. :o

You guys are on such a roll, I didn’t want to get in the way!  Holy smokes, all of the routes are done ?!?!

We will have to do a little tweaking on the maps once we get places booked so our GPS will bring us right to the front door.

We will be on the cycles before you know it!

You are correct, sir!  8)

It is coming up fast!!  We better nail done some accommodations.  I have looked so far and only two (2) places so far require security deposits, so it is not too bad.  I will switch out the Newport, OR airbnb location with a hotel stay at Holiday Inn Express.  I have one free night available, so we can get two (2) rooms for the price of one.  Plus the cost of the house plus the deposit was going to be nearly $1000...

Let me know if you have any objections to that.

P.S. Russ I would like you to choose the accommodations for the next or latest locales.  It will be good to see someone elses choices. Plus, feel free to come up with other suggestions for the locales I have already chosen.

I have attached my trip accommodation worksheets.

The total estimated damages for the stays is $2110.85 - or roughly $528/person -- or roughly $53/night/person.

And only a total of two (2) $100 security deposits, for a total of $200.

I think this seems reasonable but you guys can let me know.

Dogg

Hey, thanks for the help in Wall.  Places on ABnB were pretty scarce, so I knew we would have to do something different, I just didnt know what.  Good find!

Nice worksheet as well.  I'd say that’s a pretty good nightly average.  I think the only way to cut prices any less would be to stay in those Tee Pees you see on ABnB, which I guess I'm not really up for.  Security deposits came in low as well.  If this looks good to everyone should we continue with the bookings?

Awesome job Dogg!

Thanks.

I would also like everyone to look at each accommodation and see what they think of it.  Maybe these aren't the types of places you would like to stay...if not, please look up some places on your own and let us know so we can compare and contrast.

Obviously, we can stay in more hotels if that is what you want.

Also, keep in mind all of these airbnbs are the entire house/apartment/condo, etc.  I am pretty sure this means no breakfast.  From the reviews they all seem pretty good and they do have typical breakfast items stocked in the kitchen; coffee, bread, bagels, cereal, milk, maybe eggs, etc.  Or we can always hit up Nickoli's favorite place, McDonald's!

Peace!

Yea the accommodations look great to me.  Breakfast at a hotel is nice, but stopping by a fast food place is always an option.  The ABnB's would definitely be a change of pace.  I think it would be pretty cool.  I'm fine with everything.  Now lets get Nicks passport shipped next day air and we will be all set!
