Here is a little food for thought...

Washington D.C. — The National Park Service will have five entrance fee-free days  in 2023. The free admission days are designed to encourage discovery and visitation of the country’s variety of national parks. With at least one in every state, national parks are accessible places to visit to refresh body, mind and spirit.

The free entrance dates for 2023 are:

Jan. 16 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
April 22– First Day of National Park Week
Aug. 4 – Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
Sept. 23 – National Public Lands Day
Nov. 11 – Veterans Day

Visitors are encouraged to begin their trip to a national park with a stop at NPS.gov or the NPS app to help plan and prepare. There you can find tips to help you Plan Like a Park Ranger and Recreate Responsibly. It is important to know before you go what is open and available, especially if you are staying overnight. There are maps, updated conditions and suggested activities to help you decide where to go and what to do. Regardless of activity, visitors should follow Leave No Trace principles. National parks belong to all of us, and everyone needs to do their part to help preserve and protect them now and into the future.

The entrance fee waiver for the fee-free days applies only to National Park Service entrance fees and does not cover amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, boat launches, transportation or special tours.

Oooh, do we get to take the high speed ferry again, from Muskegon to Milwaukee?! For the remaining trip back home...

How about this route, with the exception of taking the ferry across Lake Michigan, from Milwaukee to Muskegon. We would then go see the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, then up to St. Ignace before going to Mackinac Island, then up around Lake Superior and home?!

https://goo.gl/maps/gwRsxjJUmpDax6i18

So, it shows a total of 1976 miles, but minus the 285 miles for the ferry trip equals roughly 1691 miles.

I vote for them in the order you have them.  I am good with the price if the rest are.

Well, I have taken it upon myself to book lodging for the upcoming trip.

Here is a route that could work for at least one way, we could look at changing it up for either the way out or the way back...

Way out - https://goo.gl/maps/M2E3XauCiFkERamp6

Way back - https://goo.gl/maps/Y4nqHmtVGjbGwfxJ8

Here are the accommodations:

So, we are currently $1852.64 out the door for all lodging, or $463.16/person, which equates to roughly $77.19/person/night...

Later,

Dogg

If you would prefer to have a place closer to the ferry and the town of St. Ignace, we could stay at this hotel right on Lake Huron looking out towards Mackinac Island.  It would have breakfast and it has a pool.

https://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/st-ignace/stimi/hoteldetail?cm_mmc=GoogleMaps-_-EX-_-US-_-STIMI

It would be $1009.65 per room...so, the cost is $2019.30 or $504.83/person or roughly $126.21/person/night, but as mentioned it would include breakfast.

If you wish to change to something other than the current selections below, we can cancel the AirBnb, for a full refund, up until July 12th @5pm....

Seems like a nice, quaint place with a nice coat rack for our leather cycle gear!  Although I think you may have an error in your post above indicating that it is in Wausau.  Other than that, $463.16 sounds like a respectable figure for a week long trip.  Throw in some cheap eats, some fuel for our fuel sipping cycles and we just might be able to do it for under $1k.  Ok, maybe a little over with my fuel guzzling bike.

Thank you sir for dedicating the time and effort to do this.  Heck, the hardest part is going to be washing the Gee Double You up so it looks presentable.

If you don't mind, I'll PayPal you so we are even.  Is it customary to tip 20% for these services?  Asking for a friend....
