Buells demise!
« on: October 15, 2009, 10:00:30 am »
Well I am sad to say that Harley-Davidson has announced it is shutting down Buell.  It says that it needs to concentrate on the Harley brand and needs to lower costs.  This hits me pretty hard I have been a Buell fan ever since I first heard of them....also I just bought one of their new bikes, the first with a liquid cooled engine.  It seems unreal after the year they have had in sales, new technology, and winning the 2009 AMA Daytona Sportbike Championships as well as the Pro Thunderbike series.
It is a sad day for motorcycle innovation and technology....and Buell fans everywhere!

You can go to the website to checkout a heartfelt message from the man behind the Buell bikes for the last 26 years, Erik Buell.

That is all I have.

Wow, I didnt expect that.  It's unfortunate to see an American built bike manufacturer call it quits.  Nate, I guess you will have to ride your bike until it's shot.  I would hope that they team up with Harley and bring in new ideas to their lineup.  I think they (Harley) need to make some changes to appeal to the new generation of riders and maybe this is the idea.  Who knows, you will probably be riding something similar down the road, just with the Harley name on it.

That's all I have as well.
