Looks like the ferry is going to cost a little more than I originally thought. We have to pay not only our bikes, but ourselves too. Here are the prices:
Motorcycle: $50
Person: $70
Fuel surcharge: $12.00 (for each passenger and each vehicle)
Port & security fee: $2.50 (for each passenger and each vehicle)
So from my calculations it is going to cost $149 to cross by ferry.
What do you guys think? Should we take the ferry, or look for an alternate route?

Probably just as cheap and more convienent than going all around the lake, buying fuel and going thru Chicago. so lets dominate the ferry boat !!!!! lets us be master ferrys....

I think we should! I think the experience is also part of the deal. I have never been on a ferry, so I think it will be fun. I agree with Nick that it will save time and not cost a whole lot more. And if we do drive around the lake I suggest we definitely have to take the Mackinaw Bridge....but I know a certain someone who has issues with that!
So, I say let us board the ferry and be very merry!

Well, it sounds like the ferry is a go. I think Shawn is game for the ferry as well. I will continue booking rooms with the route going across Lake Michigan. Lets set sail!!
